Read all instructions before use. Always wear protective gear.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, sturdy boots, and close-fitting clothing.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep bystanders and pets at least 15 feet away. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Electrical Safety: Use a grounded outlet. Keep cord away from cutting area and sharp objects.
  4. Kickback Awareness: Be aware of kickback zone (upper tip of bar). Do not cut with this area.
  5. Chain Brake Test: Test chain brake before each use by engaging with front hand guard.

WARNING! Never operate chainsaw with one hand. Always hold with both hands on handles. Do not operate in wet conditions.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Place bar onto mounting studs. Loop chain around bar with cutting teeth facing forward on top. Adjust tension.
  2. Fill Oil Tank: Use recommended bar and chain oil. Fill to level indicated in window.

Controls and Components

Main components: Front handle with hand guard, Rear handle with trigger and safety lock, Guide bar, Chain, Chain brake lever, Tensioning knob, Oil filler cap, Cord strain relief.

Operation Controls: Safety lock button (must be pressed to engage trigger), Trigger switch (squeeze to start motor), Chain brake lever (push forward with left hand to engage brake).

Maintenance Points: Tensioning knob (turn clockwise to tighten chain), Oil filler cap (remove to add oil), Bar mounting nuts (secure bar to body).

Operation Guide

Starting and basic cutting techniques.

  1. Starting: Place on ground, ensure chain is clear. Press safety lock with right thumb, then squeeze trigger. Allow chain to reach full speed before cutting.
  2. Basic Cutting: Use lower part of bar (avoid tip). Let saw do the work; do not force. For logs on ground, support log to prevent pinching.
  3. Bucking (cutting logs): Cut from top down. For large logs, cut from both sides to avoid pinching.
  4. Limbing (removing branches): Cut from bottom of branch upward, keeping trunk between you and saw.
  5. Stopping: Release trigger. Wait for chain to stop completely before setting down.

Tip: Periodically check oil level and chain tension during extended use.

Chain Maintenance

Proper chain care ensures performance and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file (5/32 inch) and file guide. File each cutter at 30-degree angle. File all cutters to same length.
  2. Tensioning: Chain stretches with use. Check tension frequently. Adjust via tensioning knob when chain is cool.
  3. Lubrication: Always use recommended bar and chain oil. Check oil level window before each use. Refill as needed.
  4. Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove regularly. Flip bar periodically for even wear.
  5. Chain Replacement: Replace chain when cutters are worn beyond sharpening, or if damaged.

WARNING! Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance. Wear gloves when handling chain.

Cleaning & Storage

Unplug and allow to cool before cleaning. Wipe exterior with dry cloth. Remove sawdust from air vents, guide bar, and chain area.

Storage: Store in a dry, locked area out of reach of children. Drain oil if storing for extended period. Hang by rear handle or lay flat.

CAUTION! Do not use water or solvents for cleaning. Keep motor housing vents clear of debris.
