Safety Information

Read all instructions before use. Wear appropriate PPE.

  1. Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and close-fitting clothing.
  2. Inspect chainsaw before each use for loose parts, damage, and proper chain tension.
  3. Clear work area of obstacles and ensure secure footing.
  4. Never operate with one hand; always maintain firm grip with both hands.
  5. Keep bystanders and pets at least 15 feet away.

WARNING! Gasoline is flammable; refuel in well-ventilated area with engine off and cool. Avoid kickback by not touching tip of bar to any object.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble bar, chain, and handle.

  1. Attach guide bar: Place bar onto mounting studs, align chain sprocket.
  2. Install chain: Fit chain over bar sprocket, ensure cutting teeth face forward on top.
  3. Tension chain: Use tool-free adjuster to set proper tension (chain should snap back when pulled).
  4. Fill oil tank: Use bar and chain oil (not motor oil).
  5. Mix fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane min.) with 2-stroke oil at 40:1 ratio.

CAUTION! Ensure chain is properly tensioned and moves freely before starting.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main components: Front handle with throttle trigger, rear handle, throttle lock, choke lever, primer bulb, decompression valve, chain brake, hand guard, chain catcher.

Controls: Throttle trigger (right), throttle lock (must be pressed to engage throttle), choke lever (for cold starts), primer bulb (press 5 times for cold start), ON/OFF switch, chain brake (front hand guard).

Chain tensioner: Located on side; turn clockwise to tighten, counterclockwise to loosen. Oil adjustment: Screw near oil tank (turn clockwise for more oil flow).

Fuel & Oil

Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum) mixed with 2-stroke engine oil at 40:1 ratio.

  1. Mix fuel in approved container: Add oil to gasoline, shake well.
  2. Fill fuel tank: Use funnel to avoid spills.
  3. Fill oil tank: Use only bar and chain oil for lubrication.
  4. Check oil flow: Run saw briefly over light-colored surface to see oil splatter.

Tip: Never use old or stale gasoline; always mix fresh fuel for each use.

Starting & Operation

Starting procedure for cold and warm engine.

  1. Cold start: Set ON/OFF switch to ON, set choke lever to FULL CHOKE, press primer bulb 5 times, pull starter rope sharply until engine fires, move choke to HALF, pull again to start.
  2. Warm start: Set choke to OFF, pull starter rope.
  3. Operation: Allow engine to warm up 30 seconds. Squeeze throttle lock and trigger to increase speed.
  4. Cutting: Let chain reach full speed before contacting wood. Use lower part of bar for cutting; avoid tip contact.
  5. Shut off: Release throttle, set ON/OFF switch to OFF.

WARNING! Always engage chain brake when carrying or not in use. Never drop-start chainsaw.

Chain Maintenance

Keep chain sharp and properly tensioned for safe, efficient cutting.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file (5/32 in.) and file guide. Maintain 30° angle; file each tooth evenly.
  2. Tensioning: Chain should be snug against bar but pull freely. Re-tension when chain sags (after initial use).
  3. Lubrication: Check oil level frequently; adjust oil flow for dusty/dry conditions.
  4. Bar maintenance: Clean bar groove weekly; flip bar monthly for even wear.

CAUTION! Wear heavy gloves when handling chain. Always stop engine before maintenance.

Storage & Care

Prepare chainsaw for storage to prevent damage.

  1. Drain fuel tank or add fuel stabilizer.
  2. Run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  3. Remove chain, clean, and soak in oil.
  4. Clean entire saw with damp cloth; store in dry place.
  5. Cover bar and chain to prevent rust.

CAUTION! Store fuel in approved container away from heat sources and out of reach of children.
