Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Always wear protective gear.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and sturdy footwear.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep bystanders and pets at least 15 feet away. Ensure stable footing.
  3. Before Starting: Check chain tension and sharpness. Ensure chain brake functions properly.
  4. During Use: Hold saw firmly with both hands. Do not overreach. Be aware of kickback.
  5. After Use: Engage chain brake. Unplug saw. Allow to cool before storage.

WARNING! Risk of serious injury or death. Never operate without proper training. Keep hands away from moving chain.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar: Place bar onto mounting studs, aligning adjustment pin.
  2. Install Chain: Fit chain onto bar, ensuring cutting teeth face forward on top.
  3. Adjust Tension: Use tool-less tensioner knob to tighten chain. Chain should snap back when pulled from bar.
  4. Fill Oil Reservoir: Use only recommended bar and chain oil. Fill to MAX line.
  5. Power Cord: Ensure cord is undamaged and properly rated for outdoor use.

CAUTION! Ensure chain is properly tensioned. Loose chain can derail; overtightened chain can damage saw.

Controls and Operation

Main Controls: Safety Trigger Lock, Trigger Switch, Chain Brake Lever, Oiler Button (manual override).

Starting Procedure:

  1. Place saw on ground or stable surface.
  2. Press and hold Safety Trigger Lock with left hand.
  3. Squeeze Trigger Switch with right hand to start motor.
  4. Release Safety Trigger Lock once motor is running.

Stopping: Release Trigger Switch. Engage Chain Brake Lever forward. Unplug from outlet.

Chain Brake Test: With saw unplugged, pull brake lever forward; chain should not move.

Chain & Bar Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Chain Tension: Check before each use. Adjust using tensioner knob.
  2. Chain Sharpening: Use round file (5/32 inch) at 30° angle. File all cutters evenly.
  3. Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove. Flip bar periodically for even wear.
  4. Oiling System: Check oil level before each use. Clean oil ports if clogged.
  5. Cleaning: Remove sawdust and debris from motor vents and bar.

Tip: Always use genuine replacement chains and bars for compatibility.

Cutting Techniques

Proper technique reduces fatigue and risk of kickback.

  1. Basic Cut: Hold saw firmly. Let chain do the work; do not force.
  2. Pruning: Cut branches from underside first to prevent bark tearing.
  3. Limbing: Remove branches from felled tree from bottom to top.
  4. Bucking: Cut logs into sections. Support log evenly; avoid pinching chain.
  5. Kickback Prevention: Do not cut with tip of bar. Be aware of tension in wood.

WARNING! Never operate above shoulder height. Do not cut with one hand.

Storage & Transport

Store in dry, secure location out of reach of children.

  1. Clean saw thoroughly after use.
  2. Apply light oil to chain and bar to prevent rust.
  3. Store in carrying case with chain brake engaged.
  4. Transport with bar guard installed. Unplug and coil cord neatly.

CAUTION! Do not store near heat sources or flammable materials.
