Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Always wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

  1. Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toed boots.
  2. Inspect chainsaw before each use: check chain sharpness, tension, and lubrication.
  3. Clear work area of debris, bystanders, and pets before starting.
  4. Always hold chainsaw with both hands; maintain secure footing.
  5. Never operate above shoulder height or on a ladder.

WARNING! Risk of kickback. Keep chain sharp and properly tensioned. Do not operate with one hand.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach guide bar and chain: Loosen bar nuts, position bar, loop chain over sprocket, align with bar groove.
  2. Tension chain: Use tool-less tensioner knob; adjust until chain snaps back when pulled from bar.
  3. Fill fuel tank: Use fresh gasoline mixed with 2-stroke oil at 50:1 ratio (see Specifications).
  4. Fill oil tank: Use bar and chain oil only; do not use motor oil or recycled oil.
  5. Check controls: Ensure throttle trigger, throttle lockout, and chain brake function properly.

CAUTION! Fuel is flammable. Refuel outdoors, away from ignition sources. Allow engine to cool before refueling.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main components: Front handle with throttle trigger, rear handle with throttle lockout, chain brake lever, choke control, primer bulb, stop switch, and fuel/oil caps.

Controls: Throttle trigger (speed control), Throttle lockout (must be pressed to engage throttle), Chain brake lever (forward to engage, pull back to disengage), Choke lever (for cold starts), Primer bulb (press 5 times for cold start), Stop switch (O=Run, I=Stop).

Maintenance points: Air filter cover, spark plug, chain tensioner, bar nuts, oil filler cap, fuel filler cap.

Starting & Operating

Starting procedure (cold engine):

  1. Place chainsaw on flat ground, clear of debris.
  2. Engage chain brake by pushing lever forward.
  3. Move choke lever to FULL CHOKE position.
  4. Press primer bulb 5 times.
  5. Pull starter rope slowly until resistance is felt, then pull briskly.
  6. After engine fires, move choke to HALF CHOKE; pull starter again.
  7. When engine runs, squeeze throttle to disengage choke; allow 30-second warm-up.
  8. Disengage chain brake before cutting.

Operating Tips: Let chain reach full speed before cutting. Do not force saw; let chain do the work. Cut at waist level or lower.

Chain & Bar Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Chain sharpening: Use round file (5/32 inch) at 30-degree angle. File each cutter evenly.
  2. Chain tension: Check every 15-20 minutes of use. Adjust when chain sags from bar.
  3. Bar maintenance: Clean bar groove weekly; flip bar monthly for even wear.
  4. Lubrication: Check oil flow before each use. Adjust oiler screw if needed.
  5. Chain replacement: Replace when cutters are worn below 0.25 inch (6 mm).

WARNING! Always wear heavy gloves when handling chain. Ensure engine is off and cool.

Engine Maintenance

Follow maintenance schedule for reliable operation.

IntervalTask
Before each useCheck fuel/oil levels, chain tension, air filter
Every 10 hoursClean air filter; check spark plug
Every 20 hoursClean cooling fins; inspect fuel filter
Every 50 hoursReplace spark plug; clean carburetor air intake
AnnuallyReplace fuel filter; decarbonize exhaust port

Air Filter Cleaning: Remove cover, wash filter in soapy water, dry completely, reinstall.

Storage & Winterization

Proper storage prevents fuel system damage.

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  2. Remove chain, clean, and soak in oil. Store in sealed bag.
  3. Clean entire chainsaw; apply light oil to metal surfaces.
  4. Store in dry, cool place, away from children and pets.
  5. For long-term storage, remove spark plug and add 1 teaspoon of oil to cylinder.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for more than 30 days. Use fuel stabilizer if needed.
