Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Always wear protective gear.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toe boots.
  2. Work Area Safety: Clear area of bystanders, especially children. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Kickback Prevention: Hold saw firmly with both hands. Do not cut with tip of bar.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel in well-ventilated area with engine off and cool. Use proper fuel/oil mix.

WARNING! Chainsaws are dangerous tools. Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Never operate when tired or under the influence.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Place bar onto mounting studs. Loop chain around bar with cutting teeth facing forward on top. Adjust tension.
  2. Fill Oil Tank: Use recommended bar and chain oil. Do not use waste oil.
  3. Prepare Fuel Mix: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (minimum 89 octane) mixed with 2-stroke oil at 50:1 ratio (unless specified otherwise). Shake well.
  4. Final Check: Ensure all nuts and bolts are tight. Check chain tension and lubrication.

CAUTION! Ensure chain brake is disengaged before starting. Keep hands away from cutting area during assembly.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: Throttle trigger, Throttle lockout, Chain brake lever, Stop switch, Choke lever, Primer bulb, Decompression valve (if equipped).

Components: Front handle with chain brake, Rear handle with throttle trigger, Fuel tank cap, Oil tank cap, Spark plug cover, Muffler, Guide bar cover.

Operation: Engage throttle lockout before pulling trigger. Push chain brake forward to engage (stop chain), pull back towards handle to disengage. Use choke for cold starts.

Starting & Operating

Starting Procedure (Cold Engine):

  1. Place saw on flat ground. Engage chain brake.
  2. Move stop switch to "I" (On) position.
  3. Pull choke lever to full choke position.
  4. Press primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel is visible.
  5. Hold front handle with left hand, place right foot in rear handle guard.
  6. Pull starter rope briskly until engine 'pops'.
  7. Move choke lever to half-choke position.
  8. Pull starter rope again until engine starts. Let run for 10 seconds.
  9. Press throttle trigger to move choke to off. Disengage chain brake to begin cutting.

Tip: For warm restart, do not use choke. Use half-choke only if necessary.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Perform regular maintenance for optimal performance and safety.

  1. Daily: Check chain tension and sharpness. Clean air filter. Check for loose parts.
  2. Weekly: Clean cooling fins and muffler area. Check spark plug condition.
  3. Monthly: Clean fuel filter in tank. Check fuel lines for cracks.
  4. As Needed: Replace worn bar, chain, or sprocket. Clean chain brake mechanism.

WARNING! Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing any maintenance. Allow engine to cool completely.

Chain Sharpening & Tensioning

A sharp, properly tensioned chain is essential for safety and performance.

Tensioning: Loosen bar nuts. Adjust tensioning screw until chain fits snugly against bar but can be pulled around by hand. Tighten bar nuts. Re-check tension.

Sharpening: Use correct round file size for chain. File each cutter at recommended angle (typically 30°). Maintain equal file strokes per cutter. File depth gauges (rakers) with flat file and gauge.

Storage Guidelines

For long-term storage (over 30 days):

  1. Drain all fuel from tank and carburetor. Run engine until it stops.
  2. Remove spark plug, add 1 teaspoon of 2-stroke oil into cylinder. Pull starter slowly 2-3 times to coat interior. Reinstall plug.
  3. Remove chain, clean and soak in oil. Clean entire saw.
  4. Store in a dry, cool place, away from children.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in the tank. Old fuel can damage engine components.
