Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Wear appropriate safety gear.

  1. Always wear safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, and sturdy boots.
  2. Keep bystanders and pets at least 15 feet away.
  3. Never operate chainsaw above shoulder height or on a ladder.
  4. Ensure chain brake is functional before each use.
  5. Use proper fueling procedures; no smoking near fuel.

WARNING! Chainsaw kickback can cause serious injury. Always hold firmly with both hands.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a flat, stable surface.

  1. Attach guide bar: Place bar onto mounting studs, align chain with sprocket.
  2. Install chain: Ensure cutting teeth face forward on top of bar.
  3. Tension chain: Adjust tensioning screw until chain snaps back when pulled.
  4. Mix fuel: Use 50:1 gasoline to 2-stroke oil ratio (recommended).
  5. Fill tanks: Add fuel to fuel tank and bar/chain oil to oil tank.

CAUTION! Do not over-tighten chain. Check tension after first 10 minutes of use.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls located on handle and body. Front Handle: Throttle trigger, throttle lockout, hand guard. Rear Handle: Starter grip, choke lever, stop switch.

Components: Chain brake lever, chain tensioning screw, fuel cap, oil cap, decompression valve, air filter cover.

Operation: Pull choke for cold start, push choke off after engine fires. Use throttle lockout with throttle trigger for safety. Engage chain brake by pushing hand guard forward.

Starting & Operating

Starting procedure for cold and warm engine.

  1. Place chainsaw on flat ground, clear of debris.
  2. Engage chain brake by pushing hand guard forward.
  3. Set choke to full position (cold start only).
  4. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  5. Pull starter rope briskly until engine fires.
  6. Move choke to half or run position after engine pops.
  7. Pull starter again until engine runs.
  8. Disengage chain brake before cutting.

Tip: Let engine warm up for 30 seconds before applying full throttle.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. After each use: Clean air filter, check chain tension, wipe exterior.
  2. Weekly: Clean spark arrestor screen, check bar for wear.
  3. Monthly: Replace spark plug, clean fuel filter, inspect anti-vibration mounts.
  4. Seasonally: Replace air filter, fuel lines, and check carburetor adjustment.

WARNING! Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing maintenance.

Chain Sharpening & Tensioning

Sharp chain improves cutting efficiency and safety.

  1. Secure bar: Use vise to hold bar steady.
  2. File angle: Maintain 30-degree filing angle with round file.
  3. File direction: Push file forward in smooth motion; equal strokes per tooth.
  4. Check depth gauges: File down if above recommended height.
  5. Tension chain: Adjust when chain sags from bar; should snap back when pulled.

CAUTION! Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling chain.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Drain fuel tank or add fuel stabilizer for long-term storage.
  2. Run engine until it stops to clear carburetor of fuel.
  3. Remove chain, clean, and soak in oil; store separately.
  4. Clean entire saw; apply light oil to metal surfaces.
  5. Store in dry, cool place away from children.

Tip: Store chainsaw in carrying case or cover to prevent dust accumulation.
