Unpacking and Setup

Inspect contents upon unpacking.

Sharpening Procedure

Follow these steps for optimal results.

  1. Unplug sharpener. Secure chain in clamp, aligning first cutter.
  2. Set sharpening angle using adjustment knob (e.g., 30° for standard chains).
  3. Put on safety glasses, ensure eye shield is down.
  4. Plug in unit. Press safety lock and turn power switch to ON.
  5. Gently feed cutter into grinding wheel using light pressure. Sharpen until burr is removed.
  6. Release cutter, rotate chain to next cutter, repeat.
  7. After all cutters on one side are done, unclamp chain, reverse orientation, and sharpen other side.
  8. File depth gauges using depth gauge guide.
  9. Turn switch OFF, unplug, and remove chain.

Tip: Sharpen all cutters to same length and angle for balanced cutting.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures long service life.

  1. Wheel Dressing: Use wheel dresser to clean and true grinding wheel surface monthly.
  2. Wheel Replacement: Unplug. Remove wheel guard, loosen arbor nut, replace wheel, reassemble.
  3. Lubrication: Lightly oil pivot points and clamp mechanism every 6 months.
  4. Cleaning: Use dry cloth to remove dust and metal filings after each use.
  5. Inspection: Check power cord, switch, and guards for damage before each use.
