  2. Fill fuel tank: Mix 50:1 gasoline and 2-cycle oil (89 octane minimum).
  3. Fill oil tank: Use bar and chain oil only.
  4. Check controls: Ensure throttle trigger, choke, and chain brake function properly.

CAUTION! Chain must be properly tensioned—should snap back when pulled from bar. Overtightening damages bar and chain.

Operation Instructions

  2. Set choke to FULL; press primer bulb 5 times.
  3. Pull starter rope until engine fires (1-3 pulls).
  4. Set choke to HALF; pull until engine starts.
  5. Allow 30-second warm-up; disengage chain brake.

Cutting techniques:

WARNING! Never cut above shoulder height. Always cut at full throttle.

Maintenance Schedule

Note: Use only genuine replacement parts. Refer to parts list for part numbers.

Chain & Bar Care

Proper chain maintenance ensures performance and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file (5/32 inch) at 30° angle; file all cutters evenly.
  2. Tensioning: Loosen bar nuts; adjust tension screw until chain snaps back.
  3. Bar maintenance: Clean groove weekly; flip bar monthly for even wear.
  4. Lubrication: Check oil flow before each use; adjust oiler if needed.

Tip: Dull chain causes kickback and strains engine. Sharpen when wood chips become fine dust.
