Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Wear proper safety equipment.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toe boots.
  2. Work Area Safety: Clear area of obstacles, ensure secure footing, keep bystanders at least 15 feet away.
  3. Electrical Safety: Use proper outdoor extension cord (minimum 14 AWG), keep cord away from cutting area.
  4. Kickback Prevention: Hold saw firmly with both hands, avoid tip contact, maintain proper chain tension and sharpness.

WARNING! Never operate chainsaw with one hand. Always engage chain brake when not cutting.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all components. Assemble before first use.

  1. Attach Guide Bar: Place bar on mounting studs, align chain with sprocket, install bar nuts finger-tight.
  2. Install Chain: Fit chain over bar with cutting teeth facing forward, ensure proper direction on sprocket.
  3. Tension Chain: Use tensioning wheel to adjust until chain snaps back when pulled from bar.
  4. Final Tightening: Tighten bar nuts securely while maintaining chain tension.
  5. Fill Oil Tank: Use only chainsaw bar oil, fill to maximum level indicated on window.
  6. Power Connection: Plug into appropriate outdoor-rated extension cord, then to power outlet.

CAUTION! Ensure chain brake is engaged during assembly. Always disconnect power when performing maintenance.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main components: Front handle with chain brake, rear handle with trigger, oil cap, tensioning wheel, guide bar, chain, sprocket cover.

Controls: Trigger switch (with lockout button), Chain brake lever, Oil flow adjustment screw, Tensioning wheel, Oil level window.

Operation: Press lockout button before pulling trigger. Chain brake activates automatically via inertia or manually via hand guard. Oil flow adjustable from minimum to maximum. Tensioning wheel for quick chain adjustments.

Operation Guide

Proper cutting techniques ensure safety and efficiency.

  1. Starting: Ensure chain brake is engaged, plug in power cord, press lockout button and pull trigger.
  2. Basic Cutting: Use lower part of bar for cutting, let chain do the work without forcing.
  3. Felling Trees: Plan escape path, make notch cut first, then back cut leaving hinge wood.
  4. Limbing: Work from trunk outward, keep saw stable, avoid cutting with tip.
  5. Bucking: Support log properly, cut from top down, avoid ground contact with chain.
  6. Stopping: Release trigger, engage chain brake, unplug from power source.

Tip: Maintain firm grip with thumbs wrapped around handles. Never cut above shoulder height.

Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

Maintenance TaskFrequencyProcedure

Chain Sharpening

Sharp chain cuts efficiently and reduces kickback risk.

  1. Secure Saw: Disconnect power, engage chain brake, clamp bar securely.
  2. File Size: Use 5/32" (4.0 mm) round file for 3/8" pitch chain.
  3. Filing Angle: Maintain 30° angle on top plate, follow existing angle.
  4. Filing Technique: File from inside out, equal strokes per tooth.
  5. Depth Gauges: Check with depth gauge tool, file down if too high.
  6. Equal Teeth: Ensure all teeth are same length for straight cutting.

WARNING! Always wear gloves when handling chain. Replace chain if damaged or excessively worn.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage prevents damage and extends saw life.

  1. Clean Thoroughly: Remove all sawdust, resin, and debris.
  2. Drain Oil: Empty oil tank or fill completely to prevent condensation.
  3. Chain Protection: Coat chain with light oil to prevent rust.
  4. Bar Storage: Remove bar and chain, clean groove, store separately.
  5. Cord Care: Loosely coil cord, avoid sharp bends.
  6. Storage Location: Store in dry, cool place away from children.
