Safety Guidelines

Always wear proper safety equipment and follow safety procedures.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toed boots.
  2. Pre-Operation Check: Inspect chainsaw for damage, ensure chain is sharp and properly tensioned.
  3. Clear Work Area: Remove obstacles and ensure stable footing.
  4. Two-Hand Operation: Always maintain firm grip with both hands.
  5. Kickback Awareness: Be aware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of guide bar tip).

WARNING! Never operate chainsaw above shoulder height. Keep bystanders at least 15 feet away. Do not operate when tired or under influence of medication/alcohol.

Assembly Instructions

Unpack and inspect all components before assembly.

  1. Attach Guide Bar: Place bar onto mounting studs, align chain groove with drive sprocket.
  2. Install Chain: Position chain with cutting teeth facing forward, ensure proper direction.
  3. Secure Bar Nut: Tighten bar nuts finger-tight, then use tool for final tightening.
  4. Adjust Chain Tension: Use tensioning screw until chain snaps back when pulled from bar.
  5. Fill Oil Reservoir: Use recommended bar and chain oil.
  6. Fuel Mix (Gas Models): Use fresh gasoline with proper 2-stroke oil ratio (typically 50:1).

CAUTION! Ensure chain brake is engaged during assembly. Wear protective gloves when handling chain.

Specifications

Controls and Operation

Main controls: On/Off switch, throttle trigger with safety lock, chain brake, choke (gas models), primer bulb (gas models).

Starting Procedure (Gas Models):

  1. Place on flat surface, engage chain brake.
  2. Set choke to full position (cold start).
  3. Press primer bulb 5-6 times.
  4. Pull starter rope until engine fires.
  5. Move choke to half position, pull until engine starts.
  6. Warm up for 30 seconds before use.

Electric Models: Connect to power source, ensure switch is off, then press safety lock and trigger.

Chain Installation & Tensioning

Proper chain tension is critical for safety and performance.

  1. Loosen bar nuts with appropriate wrench.
  2. Adjust tensioning screw until chain fits snug against bar.
  3. Pull chain around bar - it should snap back when released.
  4. Retighten bar nuts while lifting bar tip upward.
  5. Check tension frequently during first hour of use.

Tip: Chain should have 1/8" to 1/4" play when lifted from center of bar.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Clean air filter, check chain tension, inspect bar for wear.
  2. Weekly: Sharpen chain, clean spark plug (gas), check all fasteners.
  3. Monthly: Clean cooling fins, inspect fuel lines, replace bar oil.
  4. Seasonal: Replace spark plug, clean carburetor (gas), inspect anti-vibration mounts.

WARNING! Always disconnect spark plug wire (gas) or unplug (electric) before maintenance. Allow engine to cool completely.

Fuel & Lubrication

Use only recommended fuels and lubricants.

Gas Models: Fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum) with 2-stroke oil at 50:1 ratio. Do not use gasoline older than 30 days.

Bar & Chain Oil: Use quality chainsaw oil with tackifiers. Check oil level before each use.

Electric Models: No fuel required. Check gearbox lubrication annually.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage prevents damage and ensures easy starting.

  1. Gas Models: Drain fuel tank and run carburetor dry. Add fuel stabilizer if storing more than 30 days.
  2. Clean entire chainsaw, remove sawdust and debris.
  3. Remove chain, clean and soak in oil. Store separately.
  4. Store in dry, cool place away from children.
  5. Cover with breathable cloth to prevent dust accumulation.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for extended periods. Fuel can degrade and damage carburetor.
