  3. Inspect Power Cord: Look for cuts or frays. Replace if damaged.
  4. Lubrication: Refill oil tank before each use. Use only recommended oil.

CAUTION! Never use water or solvents to clean motor. Store in dry place.

Chain Sharpening & Tensioning

Sharp chain improves performance and safety.

  1. Tensioning: Chain should be snug but pull freely by hand. Adjust tension screw when chain is cool.
  2. Sharpening: Use 5/32" round file and file guide. Maintain 30° angle. File each cutter evenly.
  3. Depth Gauges: Check after several sharpenings. Use flat file to maintain 0.025" below cutter.
  4. Replacement: Replace chain when cutters are worn beyond repair or damaged.

Tip: Keep spare chains on hand. Always wear gloves when handling chain.

Storage Guidelines

Store in dry, secure location out of reach of children.

  1. Clean thoroughly before storage.
  2. Empty oil tank or fill completely to prevent moisture buildup.
  3. Loosen chain tension to prolong bar and chain life.
  4. Store in original box or protective cover.
