Safety Instructions

WARNING! Read all instructions before use. Failure to follow warnings can result in serious injury.

  1. Personal Safety: Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, non-slip footwear, and close-fitting clothing.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep work area clean, well-lit, and free of bystanders, children, and pets.
  3. Electrical Safety: Use a properly grounded outlet. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, and the cutting path. Do not expose to rain or wet conditions.
  4. Chainsaw Safety: Keep both hands on handles. Do not operate above shoulder height. Be aware of kickback. Never cut near power lines.
  5. Maintenance Safety: Unplug chainsaw before performing any maintenance, cleaning, or chain adjustments.

DANGER! Risk of electric shock, fire, or severe laceration. Operate with extreme caution.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack all parts. Inspect for damage.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Place chain over bar sprocket, aligning drive links with bar groove. Fit bar onto mounting studs. Ensure chain direction is correct (cutting teeth face forward on top of bar).
  2. Install Bar Nut & Cover: Place bar cover over studs and secure with bar nuts (finger-tight only).
  3. Tension Chain: Using the tensioning knob, adjust until chain fits snugly against bar but can be rotated by hand. Tighten bar nuts fully after tensioning.
  4. Fill Oil Reservoir: Use recommended bar and chain oil. Fill to level indicated in window.
  5. Power Cord: Ensure chainsaw is unplugged. Inspect cord for damage before plugging into a grounded 120V outlet.

CAUTION! Ensure chain is properly tensioned and moves freely before each use.

Specifications

Controls and Parts

Main Controls: On/Off Trigger Switch, Safety Trigger Lock, Chain Tensioning Knob, Oiler Button (if manual override).

Key Parts: Front Handle with Guard, Rear Handle, Guide Bar, Saw Chain, Chain Sprocket, Oil Filler Cap, Bar Cover/Nuts, Power Cord.

Operation: To start, depress safety lock with left thumb, then squeeze trigger with right hand. Release trigger to stop. The automatic oiler activates when the motor runs. Some models have a manual oiler button for extra lubrication.

Operation Guide

  1. Pre-Operation Check: Verify chain tension, oil level, and cord condition. Ensure work area is safe.
  2. Starting: Place chainsaw on firm ground. Hold rear handle with right hand, front handle with left (thumb under). Press safety lock and squeeze trigger.
  3. Cutting: Let chain reach full speed before contacting wood. Use a steady, controlled feed pressure. Do not force. Be aware of pinch points and binding.
  4. Kickback Prevention: Hold saw firmly. Do not let the nose (tip) of the bar contact wood, logs, or the ground.
  5. Stopping: Release trigger. Wait for chain to stop completely before setting saw down. Unplug when not in use.

WARNING! Always plan your cut and escape path. Never operate when tired or under the influence.

Chain Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures performance and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use a round file and file guide matching chain pitch. File all cutters to same length at recommended angle (typically 30°). Maintain proper depth gauge clearance.
  2. Tensioning: Chain stretches when new and during use. Check tension frequently. Adjust via tension knob: loosen bar nuts, turn knob until chain is snug, retighten bar nuts.
  3. Oiling: Check oil level before each use. Use only recommended bar and chain oil. In cold weather, use winter-grade oil.
  4. Chain Replacement: Replace chain when cutters are worn, damaged, or cannot be sharpened effectively. Match pitch, gauge, and drive link count.

CAUTION! Always unplug the saw before servicing the chain.

Cleaning & Storage

Unplug and allow to cool before cleaning.

  1. Wipe exterior with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
  2. Clean sawdust from bar groove, oil ports, and air vents using a brush or compressed air.
  3. For storage, empty oil reservoir or fill completely to prevent moisture buildup.
  4. Store in a dry, secure place, out of reach of children. Protect bar and chain from corrosion with a light oil coating.

CAUTION! Do not use solvents or immerse any part in water.
