Safety Information

Read all instructions before use. Wear proper PPE.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and close-fitting clothing.
  2. Work Area Safety: Clear area of bystanders, especially children and pets. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Chain Saw Handling: Hold firmly with both hands. Do not operate above shoulder height or on a ladder.
  4. Kickback Awareness: Be aware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar tip). Use reduced-kickback chain and chain brake.

WARNING! Gasoline is flammable. Refuel in well-ventilated area with engine off and cool. Do not smoke.

Assembly Instructions

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Place bar onto sprocket, fit chain over bar with cutting edges facing forward, tension appropriately.
  2. Install Hand Guard/Chain Brake: Align and secure with provided bolts.
  3. Fill Fluids: Mix gasoline with 2-stroke oil (50:1 ratio). Fill fuel tank. Fill bar & chain oil tank with recommended oil.
  4. Check Controls: Ensure throttle trigger, safety lock, and chain brake function smoothly.

CAUTION! Ensure chain is properly tensioned—snug but able to be pulled around bar by hand.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: Throttle trigger, Safety lock, Chain brake lever, Stop switch, Choke, Primer bulb.

Components: Front hand guard, Rear handle, Fuel tank cap, Oil tank cap, Spark plug, Air filter, Muffler, Decompression valve (if equipped).

Operation: Press safety lock to unlock throttle. Squeeze throttle to increase engine speed. Engage chain brake by pushing hand guard forward. Use choke and primer for cold starts.

Starting & Operating

Starting Procedure (Cold Engine):

  1. Place saw on flat ground, clear of debris.
  2. Engage chain brake.
  3. Set choke to FULL position.
  4. Press primer bulb 5-6 times.
  5. Hold rear handle with right foot, pull starter cord briskly until engine fires.
  6. Move choke to HALF position, pull again until engine starts.
  7. Allow to warm up 30 seconds, disengage chain brake.

Tip: For warm restart, set choke to OFF and do not prime.

Chain Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal cutting and safety.

  1. Chain Tension: Check frequently when hot and cold. Adjust tensioning screw until chain is snug but pulls freely.
  2. Sharpening: Use round file and guide. Maintain 30° cutting angle. File all cutters evenly.
  3. Depth Gauges: File down to proper height (0.025 in / 0.65 mm) using depth gauge tool.
  4. Lubrication: Ensure oil tank is filled. Check oil flow by running saw briefly over light-colored surface—look for oil splatter.
  5. Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove, flip bar periodically for even wear.

WARNING! Always wear gloves when handling chain. Ensure engine is off and spark plug disconnected.

Engine Maintenance

Air Filter: Clean weekly (more often in dusty conditions). Wash in soapy water, dry, re-oil lightly.

Spark Plug: Check gap (0.025 in / 0.65 mm). Clean or replace if fouled.

Fuel Filter: Replace annually or if clogged.

Muffler & Cooling Fins: Keep clear of debris.

CAUTION! Allow engine to cool completely before performing maintenance.

Storage Guidelines

Long-term Storage (over 30 days):

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  2. Remove spark plug, add 1 teaspoon of oil into cylinder, pull starter slowly to coat, reinstall plug.
  3. Clean entire saw, especially air filter and cooling fins.
  4. Loosen chain tension. Store in dry, covered area.

Tip: Use fuel stabilizer if you cannot drain fuel.
