Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach guide bar and chain: Place bar onto mounting studs, align chain with sprocket, tension properly.
  2. Install handle: Secure front and rear handles with provided bolts.
  3. Fill fluids: Add proper fuel/oil mix to fuel tank; fill bar/chain oil tank.
  4. Check chain tension: Adjust to proper slack (should lift slightly from bar).

WARNING! Always wear protective gloves during assembly. Ensure all fasteners are tight before operation.

Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Always wear safety gear.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and chainsaw chaps.
  2. Clear work area: Remove tripping hazards; ensure bystanders are at least 15 feet away.
  3. Check chain brake: Test function before each use.
  4. Proper stance: Stand firmly with feet shoulder-width apart.
  5. Kickback awareness: Avoid contact with bar tip; hold saw firmly with both hands.

CAUTION! Never operate chainsaw when tired, impaired, or in poor weather conditions.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls located on handle and body. Front Handle: Throttle trigger, throttle lockout, hand guard. Rear Handle: Choke control, primer bulb, stop switch, ignition coil.

Additional Components: Chain brake lever, chain tensioner, fuel cap, oil cap, spark plug, air filter cover, muffler.

Operation: Pull choke for cold start, press primer bulb 5-6 times, engage throttle lockout, pull starter cord. Adjustments: Chain tension (side knob), idle speed (carburetor screw), oil flow (adjustment screw).

Fuel & Lubrication

Use fresh fuel mix; never use straight gasoline or old fuel.

  1. Fuel mix: 50:1 ratio (2.6 oz of 2-stroke oil per 1 gallon of gasoline).
  2. Bar/chain oil: Use quality chainsaw oil (SAE 30 in warm weather, lighter in cold).
  3. Fill procedure: Clean area around caps; fill tanks slowly to avoid spills.
  4. Check oil flow: Run saw briefly over cardboard; look for oil splatter pattern.

Tip: Store fuel mix in approved container; use within 30 days for best performance.

Starting & Operation

Follow proper starting procedure to avoid damage.

  1. Cold start: Set chain brake, move choke to FULL, press primer 5 times, pull starter cord 3-5 times until engine pops, move choke to HALF, pull until starts.
  2. Warm start: Choke OFF, pull starter cord.
  3. Cutting technique: Let saw reach full speed before cutting; don't force saw; let chain do the work.
  4. Bucking: Support log properly; cut from top down; watch for binding.
  5. Limbing: Stand on opposite side of tree; cut downward branches first.
  6. Shut down: Release throttle, engage chain brake, press stop switch.

WARNING! Never drop-start chainsaw. Always engage chain brake when not actively cutting.

Maintenance Schedule

Daily: Check chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication. Weekly: Clean air filter, check spark plug. Monthly: Clean cooling fins, check fuel filter, inspect bar for wear. Seasonally: Replace spark plug, clean carburetor, inspect anti-vibration mounts.

Chain Sharpening

Sharp chain cuts faster and safer. Use proper tools: round file, file guide, depth gauge tool.

  1. Secure bar: Clamp bar in vise.
  2. File angle: Maintain 30° cutting angle; follow existing angle.
  3. File direction: Push file away from body; rotate file slightly each stroke.
  4. Depth gauges: File to proper height (0.025" below cutter).
  5. Equal strokes: Same number of strokes per tooth for even cutting.

CAUTION! Wear gloves when handling chain. Replace chain when cutters are worn beyond repair.

Storage Guidelines

Prepare chainsaw for storage to prevent damage.

  1. Drain fuel: Run engine until tank empty, or add fuel stabilizer.
  2. Clean thoroughly: Remove sawdust from cooling fins, air filter, and exterior.
  3. Remove chain: Clean and oil chain; store separately.
  4. Protect cylinder: Remove spark plug, add teaspoon of oil, pull starter slowly.
  5. Store properly: In dry location, covered, out of children's reach.

Tip: Store bar vertically to prevent warping.
