Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach guide bar: Align bar with sprocket, secure with nuts.
  2. Install cutting chain: Place chain around bar, ensure teeth face forward.
  3. Adjust chain tension: Use tensioning screw until chain snaps back when pulled.
  4. Fill oil reservoir: Use bar and chain oil only.
  5. For gas models: Mix fuel with 2-stroke oil (50:1 ratio).

WARNING! Always wear protective gloves during assembly. Ensure all fasteners are tight.

Safety Instructions

Read all safety warnings before operation.

  1. Wear PPE: Safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and chainsaw chaps.
  2. Clear work area: Remove obstacles and ensure stable footing.
  3. Check chain brake: Test before each use.
  4. Never operate above shoulder height or on a ladder.
  5. Keep bystanders at least 15 feet away.

DANGER! Kickback can occur without warning. Always hold saw firmly with both hands.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls: Throttle trigger, throttle lockout, chain brake, stop switch, choke, primer bulb.

Front Handle: Contains throttle trigger and safety lockout. Rear Handle: Main grip with stop switch. Top Cover: Chain brake lever, choke control, air filter cover.

Chain tensioning: Located near guide bar mount. Oil fill cap: On top or side of saw. Fuel cap: Marked "FUEL" on gas models.

Starting & Stopping

For gas models: Place on ground, engage chain brake, set choke, pull starter cord.

  1. Check fuel and oil levels.
  2. Engage chain brake by pushing forward.
  3. Set choke to FULL position (cold start).
  4. Press primer bulb 5-6 times.
  5. Pull starter cord briskly until engine fires.
  6. Move choke to HALF, pull again until running.
  7. Disengage chain brake before cutting.
  8. To stop: Release throttle, press stop switch.

Tip: For electric models, ensure battery is charged or cord is secure before starting.

Cutting Techniques

Basic cuts: Felling, limbing, bucking, pruning.

  1. Felling: Plan escape path, make notch cut, then back cut.
  2. Limbing: Cut branches from fallen tree, work from trunk outward.
  3. Bucking: Cut log into sections, support log off ground.
  4. Pruning: Cut small branches with bottom of guide bar.
  5. Always cut at full throttle for clean cuts.
  6. Let chain do the work - don't force the saw.

WARNING! Beware of pinch points when cutting logs under tension.

Maintenance Schedule

Daily: Clean air filter, check chain tension, inspect guide bar. Weekly: Sharpen chain, clean spark arrestor. Monthly: Replace spark plug, clean fuel filter.

IntervalTask
Before each useCheck chain tension and sharpness
After 5 hoursClean air filter, check bar oil flow
After 20 hoursReplace spark plug, clean cooling fins
After 50 hoursReplace fuel filter, inspect fuel lines
SeasonallyDrain fuel for storage, grease bearings

Chain Sharpening

Use round file matching chain pitch (typically 3/8").

  1. Secure bar in vise.
  2. File each cutter at 30° angle.
  3. Maintain consistent file height using guide.
  4. File all cutters to same length.
  5. Check depth gauges with gauge tool.
  6. File depth gauges if too high.

CAUTION! Wear gloves when handling chain. Replace chain if damaged or excessively worn.

Storage Guidelines

For gas models: Drain fuel or add stabilizer. Run engine dry. For all models: Clean thoroughly, remove chain, store in dry place.

  1. Drain fuel tank or add fuel stabilizer.
  2. Run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  3. Remove chain, clean in kerosene.
  4. Wipe entire saw with oily rag.
  5. Store in case or cover with cloth.
  6. Store chain in oil to prevent rust.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for more than 30 days without stabilizer.
