Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach guide bar and chain: Place bar on sprocket, loop chain over bar, adjust tension.
  2. Fill fuel tank: Use fresh 50:1 gasoline/oil mixture (see Fuel section).
  3. Fill oil tank: Use high-quality bar and chain oil.
  4. Check chain brake: Ensure front hand guard moves freely and engages brake.

WARNING! Always wear cut-resistant gloves during assembly. Ensure chain is properly tensioned before use.

First-Time Operation

Perform pre-start checks before first use.

  1. Check fuel and oil levels: Ensure both tanks are adequately filled.
  2. Inspect chain tension: Chain should be snug but pull freely around bar.
  3. Clear work area: Remove debris, ensure stable footing, and plan escape path.
  4. Start engine: Set choke, engage throttle lockout, pull starter cord firmly.
  5. Test chain brake: With engine idling, engage brake to ensure proper function.

CAUTION! Never start chainsaw in enclosed area. Carbon monoxide poisoning risk.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls: Front handle with chain brake, rear handle with throttle trigger, throttle lockout, choke control, stop switch, decompression valve.

Front Handle: Contains chain brake lever, vibration dampeners. Rear Handle: Throttle trigger, throttle lockout, stop switch. Top Cover: Choke control, decompression valve, air filter cover. Right Side: Chain tensioner, oil filler cap. Left Side: Fuel filler cap, spark plug.

Operation: Pull choke for cold start, push in for warm start. Engage throttle lockout before pulling trigger. Use decompression valve to reduce starting effort.

Fuel & Lubrication

Fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (minimum 89 octane) mixed with 2-stroke oil at 50:1 ratio. Lubrication: Use high-quality bar and chain oil (ISO VG 100).

  1. Mix fuel in approved container: 2.6 fl oz oil per 1 gallon gasoline.
  2. Fill fuel tank: Clean area around cap, use funnel to prevent spills.
  3. Fill oil tank: Use same procedure as fuel.
  4. Adjust oil flow: Turn screw clockwise to increase, counterclockwise to decrease.

Tip: Never use automotive motor oil or dirty/gasoline-contaminated bar oil.

Cutting Techniques

Supports felling, limbing, bucking, and pruning operations.

  1. Felling: Plan escape path, make notch cut, then back cut leaving hinge.
  2. Limbing: Work from trunk outward, keep saw between you and branch.
  3. Bucking: Support log off ground, cut from top down, avoid pinching.
  4. Pruning: Cut small branches with pulling chain (bottom of bar).
  5. Kickback prevention: Maintain firm grip, avoid nose contact, use reduced-kickback chain.
  6. Pinch release: Shut off engine, use wedge or lift to free bar.

WARNING! Always cut at full throttle. Never cut above shoulder height.

Safety Features

Chain Brake: Inertia-activated stops chain in milliseconds during kickback. Throttle Lockout: Must be depressed before throttle engages. Right-Hand Guard: Protects from chain breakage. Anti-Vibration: Reduces white finger syndrome. Spark Arrestor: Prevents forest fires.

Maintenance & Storage

Clean after each use. Store with empty fuel tank in dry, locked area.

  1. Daily: Clean air filter, check chain tension, sharpen chain.
  2. Weekly: Clean spark arrestor, check spark plug gap (0.025 inch).
  3. Monthly: Clean fuel filter, replace bar oil filter.
  4. Seasonal: Replace fuel lines, clean carburetor, check all fasteners.

CAUTION! Always disconnect spark plug wire before maintenance. Store fuel separately in approved container.
