Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Wear proper safety gear.

  1. Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
  2. Keep bystanders at least 15 feet away during operation.
  3. Inspect chainsaw before each use for damage or loose parts.
  4. Never operate with one hand or above shoulder height.
  5. Ensure chain brake is functioning properly before starting.

WARNING! Chainsaw kickback can cause serious injury. Always maintain firm grip and proper stance.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach guide bar: Align bar with mounting studs, secure with nuts.
  2. Install chain: Place chain over bar with cutting teeth facing forward.
  3. Adjust chain tension: Use tensioning screw until chain snaps back when pulled.
  4. Fill oil reservoir: Use bar and chain oil only.
  5. For gas models: Mix fuel with 2-cycle oil (50:1 ratio).

CAUTION! Ensure all fasteners are tight before operation. Do not overtighten chain.

Specifications

Controls and Functions

Main controls located on top and rear handles. Safety features integrated throughout.

Front Handle: Throttle trigger, safety trigger, chain brake lever. Rear Handle: On/off switch (electric), choke (gas), primer bulb (gas). Side Panel: Chain tension adjustment, oil fill cap, fuel cap (gas).

Operation: Pull starter handle (gas) or press switch (electric). Engage throttle to increase chain speed. Apply chain brake by pushing forward on guard. Adjust oil flow with dial (if equipped). Check fuel level through window (gas).

Operating Instructions

Starting procedure differs for gas and electric models.

  1. Gas models: Set choke, press primer 5 times, pull starter cord until engine fires.
  2. Electric models: Plug in, press safety switch and trigger simultaneously.
  3. Make cuts: Let chain reach full speed before contacting wood.
  4. Use proper cutting techniques: Support workpiece, cut at waist level.
  5. Shut down: Release throttle, engage chain brake, turn off engine/switch.

Tip: Never force the chainsaw. Let the chain do the cutting at its own pace.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Clean air filter, check chain tension, inspect bar for wear.
  2. Weekly: Clean spark plug (gas), check fuel lines, clean cooling fins.
  3. Monthly: Replace bar and chain oil, check all fasteners, clean entire unit.
  4. Seasonally: Replace spark plug, clean carburetor (gas), sharpen chain.

WARNING! Always disconnect spark plug or power cord before maintenance.

Chain Sharpening

A sharp chain cuts efficiently and safely. Sharpen when saw produces fine dust instead of chips.

  1. Secure bar in vise or clamp.
  2. File each cutter with round file at 30° angle.
  3. Maintain consistent pressure; file each cutter same number of strokes.
  4. Check depth gauges with flat file; maintain 0.025" below cutters.
  5. Clean chain with kerosene after sharpening.

CAUTION! Wear heavy gloves when handling chain. File in one direction only.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage prevents damage and extends tool life.

For gas models: Drain fuel or add stabilizer. Run engine dry. For all models: Clean thoroughly, oil chain and bar, loosen chain tension, store in dry place. Use protective bar cover. Hang vertically or lay flat.

CAUTION! Store fuel separately in approved container. Keep away from heat sources.
