Safety Information

Read all instructions before use. Always wear appropriate safety gear.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, non-slip boots, and close-fitting clothing.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep bystanders and pets at least 15 feet away. Ensure stable footing.
  3. Electrical Safety: Use a grounded outlet. Keep cord away from cutting area and sharp objects.
  4. Kickback Awareness: Be aware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar tip). Do not cut with tip.
  5. Chain Brake Test: Test chain brake before each use by engaging it with the front hand guard.

WARNING! Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Never operate chainsaw while tired or under the influence.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach the Bar and Chain: Loosen bar nuts. Place chain over sprocket, ensuring cutting teeth face forward on top of bar. Align bar with mounting studs. Tighten nuts finger-tight.
  2. Tension the Chain: Use tool-free tensioning wheel to adjust until chain fits snug against bar but can be pulled around by hand. Retighten bar nuts securely.
  3. Fill Oil Reservoir: Use only chainsaw bar and chain oil. Fill reservoir to marked level. Check for leaks.
  4. Power Cord: Ensure cord is undamaged. Plug into grounded 120V outlet.

CAUTION! Always disconnect power before performing any assembly or maintenance.

Controls and Components

Main Controls: On/Off Trigger Switch, Lock-Off Button, Chain Brake/Hand Guard, Front Handle, Rear Handle, Oil Filler Cap, Tensioning Wheel, Bar Nuts.

Operation: Press and hold Lock-Off button, then squeeze trigger to start. Release trigger to stop. Engage chain brake by pushing hand guard forward.

Maintenance Points: Chain tension adjustment, Bar rotation (flip bar periodically for even wear), Oil level check, Air vent cleaning, Sprocket inspection.

Operation Guide

Starting and basic cutting techniques.

  1. Starting: Ensure chain brake is disengaged. Hold saw firmly. Press lock-off button, then squeeze trigger.
  2. Basic Cutting: Let chain reach full speed before contacting wood. Use bottom of bar for cutting. Do not force saw; let chain do the work.
  3. Limbing: Cut branches from bottom to top. Support limb if possible.
  4. Bucking (Cutting Logs): Cut from top down. For logs on ground, cut top half first, then roll and cut bottom.
  5. Pruning: Make undercut first, then top cut to prevent bark tearing.
  6. Stopping: Release trigger. Engage chain brake for safety when not actively cutting.

Tip: Periodically check chain tension during extended use as new chains stretch.

Chain Maintenance

Proper chain care ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use correct round file size (5/32" recommended). File at 30° angle. File all cutters evenly.
  2. Tensioning: Chain should be snug but pull freely. Re-tension when chain sags more than 1/4 inch from bar.
  3. Lubrication: Check oil level before each use. Use only chainsaw bar oil. Never use waste oil.
  4. Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove regularly. Flip bar each time chain is sharpened for even wear.
  5. Chain Replacement: Replace chain when cutters are worn down to 1/4 inch or if damaged.

WARNING! Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance. Wear gloves when handling chain.

Cleaning & Storage

Unplug and allow to cool before cleaning. Store in dry, secure location.

  1. Clean exterior with dry cloth. Remove sawdust from air vents and oil ports.
  2. Wipe bar clean and apply light oil to prevent rust.
  3. Store with chain brake engaged.
  4. Hang saw or store in case to protect bar and chain.
  5. Keep away from children and pets.

CAUTION! Do not use water or solvents for cleaning. Never store with fuel (not applicable for electric model).
