Assembly & Initial Setup

Unpack all parts. Ensure you have chainsaw, battery, charger, bar, chain, and bar cover.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Place chain over bar, aligning drive links with bar groove. Fit bar onto saw body, aligning adjustment pin. Tighten bar nuts finger-tight.
  2. Tension Chain: Turn tensioning knob clockwise until chain is snug against bar but can be rotated by hand. Fully tighten bar nuts.
  3. Fill Oil Reservoir: Use recommended bar and chain oil. Fill via oil port until full.
  4. Install Battery: Insert fully charged battery pack until it clicks into place.

CAUTION! Ensure chain is installed with cutting teeth facing forward. Always wear gloves when handling chain.

Operating Instructions

Chain Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Chain Tensioning: Check tension before each use. Chain should be snug but pull freely around bar. Adjust with tensioning knob.
  2. Sharpening: Use a round file and file guide. Maintain correct filing angle (typically 30°). File all cutters evenly.
  3. Lubrication: Check oil level frequently. Use only bar and chain oil. Run saw for a few seconds off the wood to distribute oil.
  4. Cleaning: Remove sawdust and debris from bar grooves, oil ports, and air vents after use.
  5. Chain Replacement: Replace chain when cutters are worn down, damaged, or cannot be sharpened effectively.

WARNING! Always disconnect battery before performing any maintenance. A loose or dull chain is dangerous.

Battery Care & Charging

Use only Black and Decker chargers (model specific).

  1. Charging: Insert battery into charger. Charger LED will indicate status (flashing=charging, solid=complete).
  2. Storage: Store battery at room temperature. For long storage, charge to about 50% capacity.
