Assembly & Installation

Operation

  5. Stopping: Release trigger. Chain will stop. Remove battery for storage.

Tip: Plan your cut and escape path. Never cut above shoulder height.

Chain Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures performance and safety.

  1. Chain Tension: Check frequently during use. Chain should be snug but pull freely. Adjust with tensioning knob when saw is cool.
  2. Sharpening: Use a round file and guide. Maintain correct filing angle (typically 30°). Sharpen when chain produces fine dust instead of chips.
  3. Lubrication: Automatic oiler lubricates chain during use. Check oil level before each use. Refill with bar and chain oil only.
  4. Chain Replacement: Replace chain when teeth are worn, damaged, or cannot be sharpened effectively. Use only Oregon 91PX series or equivalent.

Battery & Charging

Use only Black+Decker 18V Lithium-Ion batteries and chargers.

  1. Charging: Insert battery into charger. LED will indicate charging (red) and complete (green).
