Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Always wear protective gear.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and chainsaw chaps.
  2. Work Area Safety: Clear area of obstacles; ensure secure footing; keep bystanders away.
  3. Pre-Operation Check: Inspect chain sharpness, tension, and lubrication; check for loose parts.
  4. Starting: Place on ground, engage chain brake, hold firmly, pull starter cord.
  5. Operation: Keep both hands on handles; do not cut above shoulder height; be aware of kickback.

WARNING! Kickback can cause severe injury. Always hold saw firmly with both hands. Never operate when tired or under influence.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble according to instructions.

  1. Attach Guide Bar and Chain: Loosen bar nuts, position bar, fit chain with teeth facing forward, adjust tension.
  2. Fill Fuel Tank: Use correct 2-stroke oil/gasoline mix (typically 50:1).
  3. Fill Oil Tank: Use bar and chain oil for lubrication.
  4. Check Controls: Ensure throttle trigger, safety lock, and chain brake function properly.
  5. Test Start: Follow starting procedure in a clear area.

CAUTION! Use only recommended fuels and oils. Incorrect mixture can damage engine.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: Throttle trigger, Safety lock, Chain brake lever, Stop switch, Choke, Primer bulb, Decompression valve (if equipped).

Components: Engine, Fuel tank, Oil tank, Air filter, Spark plug, Muffler, Guide bar, Saw chain, Chain catcher, Front/rear handles.

Operation: Press safety lock to unlock throttle; squeeze trigger to increase engine speed; engage chain brake by pushing lever forward. Maintenance: Regular cleaning of air filter, spark plug inspection, chain sharpening, bar maintenance.

Operation Guide

Starting Procedure: Engage chain brake; set choke; press primer; pull starter cord until engine fires; disengage choke; restart.

  1. Pre-Cut Inspection: Check chain tension and lubrication.
  2. Cutting Techniques: For felling, use notch and back cut; for limbing, cut from top; for bucking, support log properly.
  3. Kickback Prevention: Keep nose of bar away from objects; use reduced-kickback chain; maintain firm grip.
  4. Shutting Down: Release throttle; engage chain brake; press stop switch.

Tip: Let engine warm up before full-throttle operation. Avoid cutting with tip of bar.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures longevity and safety.

  1. After Each Use: Clean exterior; check for damage; empty fuel tank if storing long-term.
  2. Air Filter: Clean weekly; replace if damaged.
  3. Spark Plug: Inspect monthly; clean or replace as needed.
  4. Chain Lubrication: Ensure oiler is working; refill with bar oil.
  5. Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove; flip bar regularly for even wear.

WARNING! Disconnect spark plug before performing maintenance. Allow engine to cool.

Chain Sharpening & Replacement

Sharp chain improves performance and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file and guide; maintain correct angle (typically 30°); file all cutters evenly.
  2. Depth Gauges: File down to proper height (using depth gauge tool).
  3. Replacement: When cutters are worn beyond repair, replace chain with correct pitch/gauge.
  4. Tension Adjustment: Adjust so chain snaps back when lifted from bar.

CAUTION! Wear gloves when handling chain. Ensure chain is properly tensioned after sharpening.

Storage Guidelines

Store in dry, secure place away from children.

  1. Fuel: Drain fuel tank or add stabilizer for long-term storage.
  2. Chain: Remove, clean, and coat with oil to prevent rust.
  3. General: Clean entire saw; cover to keep dust-free.
  4. Battery (if electric): Store at partial charge in cool place.

CAUTION! Store fuel in approved container away from heat sources.
