Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Always wear protective equipment.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toe boots.
  2. Work Area Safety: Clear area of bystanders, especially children. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Chain Safety: Always engage chain brake when not cutting. Keep chain sharp and properly tensioned.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel outdoors, away from ignition sources. Use fuel/oil mix specified.

WARNING! Chainsaw kickback can cause serious injury. Always hold firmly with both hands, and do not cut with tip of bar.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble guide bar and chain.

  1. Attach guide bar: Remove side cover, position bar over studs, align chain drive links with sprocket.
  2. Install chain: Place chain over bar with cutting teeth facing forward on top.
  3. Tension chain: Adjust tensioning screw until chain snaps back when pulled from bar.
  4. Fill tanks: Add 50:1 fuel/oil mix to fuel tank. Fill chain oil tank with recommended bar oil.

CAUTION! Ensure chain is properly installed and tensioned before starting to prevent derailment or injury.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls located on top and rear handle.

Top Handle: Chain brake lever, throttle trigger lockout, throttle trigger, stop switch.

Rear Handle: Front hand guard, choke lever, primer bulb, decompression valve (if equipped), rear handle with anti-vibration mounts.

Side Panel: Side cover latch, chain tensioning screw, chain oil filler cap, fuel filler cap.

Starting & Operating

Starting procedure for cold and warm engine.

  1. Cold Start: Engage chain brake. Set choke to full, press primer bulb 5 times. Pull starter cord until engine fires, then set choke to half. Pull again to start.
  2. Warm Start: Disengage chain brake. Set choke to off. Pull starter cord.
  3. Operating: Disengage chain brake. Squeeze throttle lockout and trigger to increase RPM. Allow engine to warm up before cutting.
  4. Cutting Techniques: Use lower part of bar for cutting. Do not cut above shoulder height. Be aware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar tip).

Tip: Let engine idle for 10-15 seconds before shutting off to stabilize temperatures.

Chain Maintenance

Regular chain maintenance ensures optimal cutting and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch. File each cutter at 30° angle, maintaining original top plate angle.
  2. Tensioning: Chain should be snug against bar but pull freely. Re-tension when chain sags.
  3. Lubrication: Check oil flow before each use. Adjust oiler screw if equipped.
  4. Inspection: Check for damaged, cracked, or worn cutters, drive links, and tie straps. Replace if necessary.

WARNING! Always wear heavy gloves when handling chain. Ensure saw is off and cool before maintenance.

Engine Maintenance

Regular engine maintenance prolongs life and ensures reliability.

Air Filter: Clean weekly or more often in dusty conditions. Replace if damaged.

Spark Plug: Clean and gap to 0.5mm every 25 operating hours. Replace annually.

Fuel System: Use fresh fuel mix. Clean fuel filter annually. Carburetor adjustment may be required for altitude/temperature changes.

Cooling System: Keep cylinder fins clean for proper cooling.

Storage & Transport

Prepare chainsaw for storage or transport.

  1. Short-term: Empty fuel tank or add fuel stabilizer. Run engine to distribute stabilized fuel through carburetor.
  2. Long-term: Drain fuel completely. Remove chain, clean, and coat with oil. Store in dry place.
  3. Transport: Always engage chain brake. Use scabbard or bar guard. Secure in vehicle to prevent movement.

CAUTION! Never store chainsaw with fuel in tank for more than 30 days without stabilizer. Fuel degradation can damage carburetor.
