Safety Information

Read all instructions before operation. Always wear appropriate PPE.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps/pants, and steel-toe boots.
  2. Pre-Operation Check: Inspect chain tension, sharpness, bar condition, and all fasteners before each use.
  3. Clear Work Area: Ensure no obstacles, bystanders, or animals within 15 feet.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel in well-ventilated area with engine off and cool. Use fresh fuel mix (50:1).

WARNING! Kickback can occur without warning. Always maintain firm grip, proper stance, and use chain brake when not cutting. Never operate above shoulder height.

Assembly & First Use

Unpack and inspect all components. Assembly required for bar and chain.

  1. Attach Guide Bar & Chain: Place bar over studs, align chain with sprocket and bar groove, install clutch cover and tighten nuts finger-tight.
  2. Tension Chain: Lift bar tip, adjust tensioning screw until chain fits snug against bar (can be pulled by hand but not loose).
  3. Final Tightening: Hold bar tip up and tighten clutch cover nuts securely.
  4. Fuel Mix: Prepare 50:1 mix with 91+ octane unleaded petrol and 2-stroke oil. Fill fuel tank.
  5. Chain Oil: Fill oil reservoir with quality bar & chain oil.
  6. Starting Procedure: Set chain brake ON, move choke to START, pull starter cord until engine fires, move choke to RUN, pull to start.

CAUTION! Ensure chain brake is engaged during starting. Never drop-start the chainsaw.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls located on top and rear handle.

Top Handle Area: Chain brake lever, Throttle trigger lockout, Throttle trigger, Choke lever, Decompression valve, Stop switch.

Rear Handle: Front hand guard, Rear handle with anti-vibration mounts, Fuel tank cap, Oil tank cap.

Right Side: Clutch cover, Chain tensioning screw, Bar adjustment nuts, Chain catcher.

Left Side: Spark plug, Air filter cover, Carburetor adjustment screws (H, L, T).

Operation Guide

Proper technique ensures safety and efficiency.

  1. Starting: Engage chain brake. Set choke to START. Pull starter cord until engine fires. Set choke to RUN. Pull starter cord to start. Disengage chain brake before cutting.
  2. Basic Cutting: Use full throttle when cutting. Let chain do the work - don't force. For felling, plan escape path, make notch cut, then felling cut.
  3. Limbing: Work from trunk outward. Keep saw between you and branch being cut.
  4. Buckling: Support log properly. Cut from top down. Beware of pinch points.
  5. Kickback Prevention: Maintain firm grip. Don't cut with bar tip. Keep chain sharp and properly tensioned.
  6. Shutdown: Release throttle, engage chain brake, press stop switch.

Tip: Practice cutting techniques on small logs before tackling larger projects.

Maintenance Schedule

IntervalTask
Before each useCheck chain tension & sharpness, inspect bar for wear, check all fasteners, fuel/oil levels
Every 5 hoursClean air filter, check spark plug condition
Every 10 hoursClean spark arrestor screen, check clutch drum & sprocket
Every 20 hoursClean cooling fins, check anti-vibration mounts
Every 50 hoursReplace spark plug, clean fuel filter, check carburetor settings
SeasonallyReplace air filter, inspect/replace fuel lines, clean carburetor

CAUTION! Always disconnect spark plug before performing maintenance.

Chain Sharpening & Tensioning

Proper chain maintenance is critical for performance and safety.

  1. Tensioning: Chain should be snug against bar but pull freely by hand. Adjust when chain sags from bar. Always tension with engine off and cool.
  2. Sharpening: Use correct round file size (5/32" for .050" gauge). Maintain 30° cutting angle. File each cutter equally. Check depth gauges regularly.
  3. Bar Maintenance: Flip bar weekly for even wear. Clean bar groove regularly. Dress bar rails if burred.
  4. Sprocket: Replace drive sprocket every 2-3 chains. Inspect clutch drum for wear.

WARNING! Never operate with dull or loose chain. This increases kickback risk and reduces cutting efficiency.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Drain all fuel from tank and carburetor.
  2. Run engine until it stops to clear fuel lines.
  3. Remove chain, clean and oil it. Store separately.
  4. Clean entire saw, especially cooling fins and air filter area.
  5. Store in dry, cool place with bar cover installed.
  6. For long-term storage, fog engine through spark plug hole.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for more than 30 days. Modern ethanol fuel can damage fuel system components.
