Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Wear appropriate safety gear.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, and sturdy footwear.
  2. Work Area Safety: Ensure clear area of bystanders, especially children and pets.
  3. Pre-Operation Check: Inspect chain tension, oil level, and pole lock before each use.
  4. Operating Position: Maintain secure footing and hold saw with both hands.

WARNING! Risk of serious injury or death from kickback, electric shock, or falling branches. Never operate above shoulder height or on unstable surfaces.

Assembly & Installation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a flat, stable surface.

  1. Attach Pole Sections: Extend pole to desired length and secure lock mechanism.
  2. Install Chain and Bar: Place bar onto motor housing, loop chain around sprocket, and align with guide grooves.
  3. Tension Chain: Use quick-release lever to adjust tension until chain fits snugly against bar.
  4. Fill Oil Reservoir: Use recommended bar and chain oil; check level via window.
  5. Charge Battery: Fully charge battery before first use (if cordless model).

CAUTION! Ensure all connections are tight and secure before operation. Do not force components.

Specifications

Controls and Operation

Front Handle: Contains POWER switch with safety lock. Rear Handle: Trigger for motor control. Pole: Adjustable length lock.

Starting Procedure:

  1. Ensure chain brake is engaged (forward position).
  2. Press and hold safety lock button on POWER switch.
  3. Squeeze trigger to start motor.
  4. Release safety lock once motor is running.
  5. Disengage chain brake by pulling lever toward rear handle.

Cutting Techniques: Use lower third of bar for cutting; avoid tip to prevent kickback. Let chain do the work—do not force.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. After Each Use: Clean sawdust from bar, chain, and air vents.
  2. Weekly: Check and tighten all screws and fasteners.
  3. Monthly: Inspect pole lock mechanism for wear; lubricate if necessary.
  4. Oil System: Refill with recommended oil; clean oil ports to prevent clogging.

CAUTION! Always disconnect power source (remove battery/unplug) before performing any maintenance.

Chain Sharpening & Replacement

A sharp chain ensures efficient cutting and reduces motor strain.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch (typically 4mm). File each cutter at 30° angle with equal strokes.
  2. Depth Gauges: File down rakers to maintain proper depth (0.6mm) using depth gauge tool.
  3. Replacement: When cutters are worn beyond repair, replace entire chain. Match pitch and gauge specifications.
  4. Installation: Follow assembly steps; ensure correct rotation direction (cutting edges forward on top of bar).

WARNING! Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling chain. Ensure chain is properly tensioned after sharpening or replacement.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage prevents damage and extends tool life.

  1. Clean thoroughly: Remove all sawdust and debris.
  2. Oil chain and bar: Apply light coat of oil to prevent rust.
  3. Store in dry place: Avoid damp or extreme temperature environments.
  4. Battery care: Store battery at 40-50% charge in cool, dry location if not used for extended periods.

CAUTION! Do not store with fuel (if applicable) in enclosed spaces. Keep out of reach of children.
