Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Wear appropriate safety gear.

  1. Always wear: Safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and cut-resistant pants.
  2. Clear work area of obstacles and ensure no bystanders are within 15 feet.
  3. Check chain tension and sharpness before each use.
  4. Never operate with one hand; always maintain firm grip with both hands.
  5. Do not operate above shoulder height or on a ladder.

WARNING! Gasoline is highly flammable. Refuel in well-ventilated area with engine off and cool. Avoid contact with hot engine parts.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach guide bar and chain: Loosen bar nuts, position bar, fit chain with cutting teeth facing forward, adjust tension.
  2. Fill fuel tank: Use fresh 2-stroke fuel mix (recommended ratio 50:1 gasoline to 2-stroke oil).
  3. Fill chain oil tank: Use recommended bar and chain oil.
  4. Check all fasteners: Ensure screws and nuts are tight.

CAUTION! Ensure chain is properly tensioned—should snap back when pulled from guide bar. Over-tightening can damage bar and chain.

Specifications

Controls and Parts

Main Controls: Throttle trigger, Throttle lockout, Chain brake lever, Stop switch, Choke lever, Primer bulb.

Key Parts: Front hand guard, Rear handle, Fuel tank cap, Oil tank cap, Muffler, Spark plug cover, Chain tensioning screw.

Operation: Pull throttle lockout before squeezing throttle. Engage chain brake by pushing front hand guard forward. Use choke for cold starts.

Starting & Operation

Starting Procedure (Cold Engine):

  1. Place chainsaw on flat ground, clear of debris.
  2. Engage chain brake by pushing hand guard forward.
  3. Set choke lever to full choke position.
  4. Press primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel is visible.
  5. Hold rear handle with right hand, place left foot through rear handle.
  6. Pull starter cord briskly until engine fires, then move choke to half position.
  7. Pull starter cord again to start engine. Allow to warm up for 30 seconds.
  8. Disengage chain brake before cutting.

Tip: For warm restart, do not use choke. Set stop switch to "on" and pull starter cord.

Cutting Techniques

Basic Cutting:

  1. Felling: Plan escape path. Make notch cut (1/3 diameter) on falling side, then back cut slightly above notch.
  2. Limbing: Stand on opposite side of log. Cut branches from bottom to top.
  3. Bucking: Support log off ground. Cut from top down, avoiding contact with ground.
  4. Use lower part of bar for cutting; avoid using tip to prevent kickback.
  5. Let chain do the work; do not force saw into cut.

WARNING! Beware of kickback. Always hold saw firmly with both hands, thumbs wrapped around handles. Never cut with tip of bar.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Daily Maintenance:

  1. Clean air filter: Remove, tap clean, or wash with soapy water if very dirty.
  2. Check chain tension: Adjust if loose (chain should snap back).
  3. Inspect chain sharpness: Sharpen if cutting poorly.
  4. Clean cooling fins and muffler area of debris.
  5. Check for loose nuts and bolts.

CAUTION! Always disconnect spark plug before performing maintenance. Allow engine to cool completely.

Chain Sharpening

Use round file matching chain pitch (typically 5/32" or 4.0mm).

  1. Secure bar in vise.
  2. File each cutter at recommended angle (usually 30°).
  3. File from inside out, using consistent strokes.
  4. File all cutters to same length.
  5. Check depth gauges with depth gauge tool; file down if too high.

Replace chain when cutters are worn beyond repair or damaged.

Storage

Long-term Storage:

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  2. Remove chain, clean, and coat with oil.
  3. Clean entire saw, especially air filter and cooling fins.
  4. Store in dry, cool place, away from children.
  5. Cover to prevent dust accumulation.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for more than 30 days; fuel can degrade and damage engine.
