Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Wear appropriate PPE.

  1. Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and chainsaw chaps.
  2. Keep bystanders and pets at least 10 metres away.
  3. Never operate above shoulder height or on a ladder.
  4. Ensure chain brake is functional before each use.
  5. Use two hands to operate the chainsaw at all times.

WARNING! Petrol is highly flammable. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with engine off and cool. No smoking.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble guide bar and chain.

  1. Attach guide bar: Place bar onto sprocket, align with tensioner pin.
  2. Fit chain: Ensure cutting teeth face forward on top of bar.
  3. Adjust tension: Use side tensioner until chain snaps back when pulled.
  4. Mix fuel: Use fresh unleaded petrol and two-stroke oil at specified ratio (e.g., 50:1).
  5. Fill tanks: Add fuel mix to fuel tank and bar/chain oil to oil tank.

CAUTION! Chain must be properly tensioned—too loose may derail; too tight may damage bar.

Controls and Components

Main controls on body: Throttle trigger, throttle lockout, choke, primer bulb, stop switch, chain brake lever.

Labels: FRONT HAND GUARD, CHAIN BRAKE, OIL CAP, FUEL CAP, STARTER HANDLE.

Operation: Pull choke for cold start, press primer bulb 5-6 times, set stop switch to ON, pull starter rope. Engage chain brake by pushing front hand guard forward. Release brake by pulling back towards handle.

Starting & Stopping

Starting procedure (cold engine):

  1. Place on flat, clear ground. Engage chain brake.
  2. Set stop switch to ON. Pull choke to full position.
  3. Press primer bulb until fuel is visible.
  4. Hold front handle with left hand, place right foot in rear handle.
  5. Pull starter rope briskly until engine fires (1-3 pulls).
  6. Push choke to half position, pull starter again until engine runs.
  7. Warm up for 30 seconds, then push choke fully off.

Stopping: Release throttle, let engine idle, set stop switch to OFF.

Operating Instructions

Basic cutting techniques:

  1. Check chain oiling: Run at full throttle over light-coloured surface; look for oil spray.
  2. Felling trees: Notch cut on falling side, then back cut. Use wedges if needed.
  3. Limbing: Cut branches from bottom to top, using bar tip carefully.
  4. Bucking logs: Support log fully; cut from top down, avoid ground contact.
  5. Kickback prevention: Keep nose of bar away from objects; cut with lower part of bar.

Tip: Let chain do the work; do not force. Maintain firm grip, feet apart.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Daily maintenance after use:

  1. Clean air filter: Remove, tap out debris, wash in soapy water if very dirty.
  2. Check spark plug: Clean electrode, gap 0.5-0.6 mm, replace if worn.
  3. Clean cooling fins and cylinder area of sawdust.
  4. Inspect chain for damage, sharpen if dull (see next section).
  5. Clean guide bar groove and oil holes.

CAUTION! Disconnect spark plug wire before maintenance. Use only recommended oils.

Chain Sharpening & Replacement

Sharpen chain when saw produces fine dust instead of chips.

  1. Secure bar in vise. Identify correct file size (e.g., 5/32" for 3/8" LP).
  2. File each cutter at same angle (typically 30°), using file guide.
  3. File from inside out, maintaining equal strokes per cutter.
  4. Check depth gauges with gauge tool; file down if above limit.
  5. Replace chain if cutters are severely worn, cracked, or after multiple sharpenings.

WARNING! Wear gloves when handling chain. Ensure proper orientation when installing new chain.

Storage

For long-term storage (>30 days):

  1. Drain fuel tank and run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  2. Remove spark plug, add 1 tsp of oil into cylinder, pull starter slowly, replace plug.
  3. Clean entire saw, apply light oil to bar and chain.
  4. Store in dry, cool place, out of reach of children.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank—petrol degrades and may clog carburetor.
