Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before operation. Wear proper safety gear.

  1. Always wear: Safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and chainsaw chaps.
  2. Clear work area of obstacles and bystanders (minimum 15 feet/4.5 meters).
  3. Check chain tension and sharpness before each use.
  4. Never operate with damaged or missing safety devices.

WARNING! Kickback can occur without warning. Always hold chainsaw firmly with both hands. Never operate above shoulder height.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all components. Assemble on clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach guide bar: Loosen bar nuts, position bar on studs, align chain sprocket.
  2. Install chain: Place chain over bar with cutting teeth facing forward, ensure proper direction.
  3. Adjust chain tension: Tighten until chain snaps back when pulled from bar.
  4. Fuel mixture: Use 50:1 gasoline to 2-stroke oil ratio (89 octane minimum).
  5. Fill oil reservoir: Use bar and chain oil only.

CAUTION! Never use automotive motor oil or dirty gasoline. Ensure all fasteners are tightened securely.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main components: Front handle with throttle trigger, rear handle with throttle lockout, choke lever, primer bulb, decompression valve, chain brake lever, and master control lever.

Control Locations: - Throttle trigger: Right side of rear handle - Throttle lockout: Must be depressed before throttle works - Chain brake: Front hand guard activates when pushed forward - Choke lever: For cold starting - Primer bulb: Press 5-6 times for cold starts - Decompression valve: Reduces cylinder pressure for easier starting

Safety Features: Chain brake, throttle lockout, right-hand guard, spark arrestor muffler.

Starting Procedure

Follow these steps for safe starting.

  1. Place chainsaw on firm, level ground.
  2. Engage chain brake by pushing hand guard forward.
  3. Set master control to cold start position (choke on).
  4. Press primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel is visible.
  5. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  6. Place right foot through rear handle, hold front handle firmly.
  7. Pull starter rope briskly until engine fires (1-3 pulls).
  8. Move master control to half-throttle position.
  9. Pull starter rope until engine starts.
  10. Blip throttle to disengage choke, allow 30-second warm-up.

Tip: For warm starts, omit steps 3 and 4. Never drop-start chainsaw.

Operation Guidelines

Proper cutting techniques ensure safety and efficiency.

  1. Planning: Assess tree/limb fall direction, clear escape paths.
  2. Grip: Hold front handle with left hand, rear handle with right hand.
  3. Stance: Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, left foot slightly forward.
  4. Cutting: Let chain do the work - avoid forcing or twisting.
  5. Kickback zone: Avoid cutting with upper quadrant of bar tip.
  6. Bucking: Support log properly, cut from top down.
  7. Limbing: Work from trunk outward, keep body to side of cutting path.
  8. Shut down: Engage chain brake, allow engine to idle 30 seconds before stopping.

WARNING! Never operate with one hand. Always be aware of kickback danger zone (upper quadrant of bar tip).

Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

IntervalTask
Before each useCheck chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication
DailyClean air filter, check all fasteners
Every 10 hoursClean spark arrestor screen
Every 20 hoursReplace spark plug, clean fuel filter
Every 50 hoursClean cylinder fins, check anti-vibration mounts
Every 100 hoursReplace fuel filter, clean carburetor
AnnuallyProfessional inspection and tune-up

CAUTION! Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing maintenance.

Chain Sharpening

Sharp chain improves cutting efficiency and safety.

  1. Secure bar in vise or clamp.
  2. File angle: Maintain 30° cutting angle.
  3. File position: Use round file matching chain pitch (5/32" for 3/8" pitch).
  4. Filing direction: Push file forward in smooth strokes, maintain consistent pressure.
  5. Depth gauges: File rakers to 0.025" below cutter height using depth gauge tool.
  6. Equal strokes: Apply same number of strokes to each cutter.
  7. Check: Chain should pull smoothly through wood without forcing.

Tip: Sharpen chain when sawdust becomes fine powder instead of chips.

Storage Instructions

Proper storage prevents fuel system damage and corrosion.

  1. Drain fuel tank completely or add fuel stabilizer.
  2. Run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  3. Remove chain, clean and oil thoroughly.
  4. Clean entire chainsaw, especially cooling fins and air filter.
  5. Store in dry, cool place away from children.
  6. Cover with breathable cloth to prevent dust accumulation.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for more than 30 days without stabilizer.
