Safety Information

Read and understand all instructions before operation. Always wear proper PPE.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear chainsaw chaps, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep bystanders and pets at least 15m away. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Fuel Safety: Refuel in well-ventilated area with engine stopped and cool. Use fuel mix 50:1 (Husqvarna XP+ oil recommended).
  4. Kickback Zone: Avoid contact with upper quadrant of bar tip. Use reduced-kickback chain and bar.

WARNING! Kickback can cause severe injury or death. Always hold saw firmly with both hands. Never operate above shoulder height.

Assembly & First-Time Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble guide bar and chain.

  1. Attach guide bar and chain: Place bar over studs, loop chain over sprocket and bar, adjust tension.
  2. Fill fuel tank: Use 50:1 gasoline to 2-stroke oil mix. Shake container before filling.
  3. Fill chain oil tank: Use Husqvarna chain oil or equivalent.
  4. Check chain lubrication: Start saw and observe oil flow on ground or bar tip.
  5. Check chain brake: Verify inertia and manual activation works.

CAUTION! Chain must be properly tensioned - should snap back when pulled from bar. Overtightening damages bar and chain.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls: Throttle trigger, throttle trigger lockout, stop switch, choke/stop control, chain brake, primer bulb (if equipped).

Right side: Throttle trigger, throttle trigger lockout, front handle, chain brake lever. Left side: Choke/stop control, rear handle, fuel and oil caps, decompression valve (if equipped). Top: Spark plug, air filter cover, starter handle.

Chain brake: Manual activation by pushing forward; inertia activation during kickback. Chain tensioning: Side-mounted adjuster - loosen bar nuts, turn screw, retighten nuts.

Starting & Stopping the Engine

Cold start:

  1. Place saw on flat ground. Engage chain brake.
  2. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  3. Set choke/stop control to full choke position.
  4. Press primer bulb 6 times (if equipped).
  5. Pull starter cord until engine fires (1-4 pulls).
  6. Move choke/stop control to half choke position.
  7. Pull starter cord until engine starts.
  8. Blip throttle to disengage fast idle.

Warm start: Choke/stop control in run position. Pull starter cord.

Stopping: Release throttle, move choke/stop control to stop position.

Chain & Bar Maintenance

Daily maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Chain sharpening: Use round file 7/32" (5.5 mm) at 30° angle. Maintain correct depth gauge setting (0.025"/0.65 mm).
  2. Chain tension: Check when cold. Proper tension: chain snaps back when pulled from bar groove.
  3. Bar maintenance: Clean bar groove weekly. Flip bar monthly for even wear.
  4. Sprocket inspection: Replace spur sprocket every 2 chains; rim sprocket every 2-3 rims.
  5. Chain lubrication: Check oil flow daily. Adjust oiler via screw under clutch cover.

CAUTION! Always wear gloves when handling chain. Dull chain increases kickback risk.

Carburetor Adjustment

Factory settings typically correct. Adjust only if necessary.

ScrewFunctionInitial Setting
LLow-speed fuel mixture1 turn open
HHigh-speed fuel mixture1 turn open
TIdle speed1 turn open

Adjustment procedure: Warm up engine 10 minutes. Turn L screw for smooth acceleration. Turn H screw for maximum RPM (do not exceed 13,500 RPM). Adjust T screw so chain doesn't move at idle. Final adjustment should be done by authorized dealer.

Storage & Transport

Short-term (under 30 days): Drain fuel tank, run engine until carburetor empty. Clean saw, lubricate bar and chain.

Long-term (over 30 days): Drain fuel completely. Remove spark plug, add 1 tsp oil, pull starter 2-3 times. Clean air filter. Store in dry place with bar and chain removed.

Transport: Always engage chain brake. Use scabbard or carry case.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank. Gasoline deteriorates and damages carburetor.

Warranty & Support

Husqvarna 350 includes 2-year consumer warranty for private users, 1-year commercial warranty. Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. Not covered: normal wear, misuse, improper maintenance, non-Husqvarna parts. For support, contact authorized Husqvarna dealer or Husqvarna USA: 1-800-487-5962. Register product at www.husqvarna.com.
